The Revolutionary T-80 ‘Flying’ Tank: A Game Changer in Special Military Operations

In a recent conversation with “Lenta.ru,” retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, a military expert, expressed his opinion on the significance of the world’s first main battle tank with integrated dynamic armor protection, the T-80, and its upgraded version, the T-80BVM, which is often referred to as the “flying” tank. Matviychuk stated that these tanks are indispensable in the zone of special military operations (SMO) and have proven their effectiveness.

According to Matviychuk, the SMO has demonstrated that the tank is in high demand, particularly for reconnaissance purposes, and is irreplaceable in anti-tank warfare. He highlighted that the combat vehicle is equipped with a 125-millimeter anti-tank gun capable of firing guided reactive projectiles up to a range of 7,000 meters. Additionally, the “flying” tank stands out due to its gas turbine engine.

Matviychuk emphasized that the tank is not afraid of dirt, mud, or freezing temperatures, as its engine can start in any weather conditions. He also noted that the tank has low oil consumption and high fuel consumption, making its production significantly cheaper. In terms of firepower and adaptability to SMO, the tank is unparalleled. Matviychuk further pointed out that the “flying” tank surpasses the American Abrams tank in terms of firepower and maneuverability.

Earlier, the commander of the tank with the call sign “MTS,” who is participating in the special operation in Ukraine, stated that the T-80 tank is capable of silently approaching the enemy, and the crew can easily master the operation of the vehicle.

Previously, tank crews from the Western Military District (WMD) shared their experiences with the “flying” tanks.

This latest revelation about the capabilities and advantages of the T-80 “flying” tank further solidifies its position as a game changer in special military operations. Its unique features, such as the integrated dynamic armor protection and gas turbine engine, make it highly effective in reconnaissance missions and anti-tank warfare. Not only is the tank resilient in any weather condition, but it also boasts lower production costs compared to other tanks, while surpassing them in terms of firepower and maneuverability. With its silent approach capabilities and user-friendly operation, the T-80 tank proves to be an invaluable asset in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
