Ukraine to Establish Training Center for Fighter Pilots with Romanian Partnership

In Romania, preparations are underway to establish a training center for Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots on F-16 fighter jets, a similar base may also be established in Ukraine. This was announced by Yuriy Ignat, an advisor to the Ukrainian Air Force command, during an interview with the “1+1” channel.

“The pilot training center is being formed in Romania. In order for it to be established, a base needs to be prepared, equipped with aviation simulators, aviation trainers, as well as training and combat aircraft such as the F-16,” noted Ignat.

According to him, the partners providing two-seater aircraft are consistent and will allocate the necessary number of F-16s.

Ignat believes that several similar training centers can be opened in Ukraine.

In addition, Kiev’s allies are already delivering aircraft so that Ukrainian military personnel, who undergo training both in the United States and in Europe, can also receive training in Romania.

Previously, the Pentagon clarified that the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots on F-16s will take five to six months.

Earlier, NATO set a condition for transferring F-16s to Ukraine.
