Authorities in Montgomery County, Texas are conducting an investigation into an arson attack on a Buddhist Temple that occurred on Sunday night. The incident involved an unidentified individual throwing a Molotov cocktail into the temple, causing a fire. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the incident and dispatched deputies to the scene for an arson investigation.
According to reports, the suspect approached the temple and threw a container filled with gasoline and lit wicking material, commonly known as a Molotov cocktail, through an open window. Fortunately, members of the temple were able to quickly extinguish the flames, preventing further damage and potential harm to those inside.
Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson expressed his concern over the incident, emphasizing that religious freedom and the safety of all citizens, regardless of religious affiliation, are of utmost importance to the authorities. The sheriff’s office has released surveillance footage and a photo of the suspect, described as a White or light-skinned male wearing a dark baseball cap, black boots, and carrying a backpack.

Sheriff Henderson also addressed the community, urging residents to remain calm and patient as the investigation progresses. He assured them that incidents like these are taken seriously and will not be tolerated in Montgomery County.
Both the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Huyen Trang Buddhist Temple have not yet responded to requests for comment on the incident.
