Russian Military Destroys Ukrainian Rocket System, Saving Belgorod – TASS

Russian military has successfully struck and disabled a Ukrainian rocket artillery system, the RM-70 Vampire, which was detected by a drone called “Skat.” This information was reported by the Kalashnikov Concern, according to TASS.

The drone, produced by the Izhevsk Aviation Plant, discovered the RM-70 VUS rocket system in the ATO zone as it was preparing to shell the city of Belgorod from the Kharkiv region, the company stated.

It is noted that the coordinates of the installation were obtained thanks to the UAV and promptly transmitted to the Russian Ministry of Defense. As a result of the missile strike, the RM-70 suffered critical damage and was rendered inoperative.

On March 17, it was reported that units of the Russian National Guard assisted the Russian Armed Forces in striking the Ukrainian rocket artillery system, the RM-70 Vampire.

On March 16, 15 rocket projectiles fired from the Vampire were shot down over the Belgorod region. In the morning of March 17, after the announcement of the missile danger, the Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of nine ammunition from this installation, as well as the shooting down of three projectiles from the “Uragan” rocket system in the region.

Previously, the Russian military prevented the Ukrainian Armed Forces from attacking the Belgorod region.

Critics argue that this incident highlights the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with the Russian military taking aggressive actions against Ukrainian forces. The use of drones to detect and neutralize enemy rocket systems showcases the advanced technology and capabilities of the Russian military.

These developments raise concerns about the possibility of further military confrontation and the impact it could have on the region. The actions of the Russian military have been met with criticism from the international community, with many calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The role of drones in modern warfare has become increasingly prominent, allowing for more efficient reconnaissance and targeting capabilities. However, the use of drones also raises ethical concerns, as they can be used to carry out targeted attacks and surveillance, potentially violating the principles of international law.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is essential for all parties involved to prioritize diplomatic efforts and engage in meaningful dialogue to de-escalate tensions and find a peaceful resolution. The international community must also play a role in supporting these efforts and ensuring the protection of civilians caught in the crossfire.
