Israel Accused of Dropping 35,000 Tons of Explosives on Gaza

In a shocking revelation, a member of the Hamas political bureau, Osama Hamdan, has accused Israel of dropping a staggering 35,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since the escalation of the conflict on October 7th. According to Al Jazeera, Hamdan described this act as surpassing the use of a nuclear bomb.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had previously stated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would minimize the damage to civilians during their operation against Hamas in Gaza. However, the scale of the reported explosives dropped raises serious concerns about the safety of innocent lives.

The conflict began on October 7th when Hamas militants launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of their operation, named “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Thousands of radicals infiltrated Israeli territory, taking hostages and capturing military equipment. In response, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

Israel’s counter-operation, named “Iron Swords,” aimed at the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force launched strikes on hundreds of militant targets in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the enclave, leading to a rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation. Later on, Israel commenced a ground operation in Gaza.

Earlier, Israel had promised restraint in its Gaza operation. However, the reported magnitude of explosives dropped raises serious questions about Israel’s adherence to its commitment.
