Police in central Indiana are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic triple homicide that took place at a residence on the west side of Muncie. The bodies of two men and a woman were discovered on Friday afternoon after a concerned individual called 911 to request a welfare check on one of the residents. Deputy Chief Melissa Criswell stated on Saturday that all three victims had succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds.
Authorities have determined that there was no forced entry into the home, leading them to believe that the incident was not a random act of violence and that there is no immediate danger to the community. The victims have been identified as 32-year-old Kevin L. Humphrey, 45-year-old Sarah R. Barnes, and her father, 76-year-old Douglas L. Starr, according to the Delaware County coroner.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Muncie police have yet to provide further details or updates. The community is left in shock and mourning as they await answers and justice for the senseless loss of three lives.
