In a recent development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that residents of the northern districts of the Gaza Strip will be allowed to evacuate to the south of the enclave for a period of four hours. This decision comes amidst escalating tensions between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas.
According to Avichay Edri, the IDF spokesperson in charge of media affairs in Arabic, the IDF will permit passage on the Salah al-Din road, connecting the north and south of Gaza, from 10:00 to 14:00 local time (11:00 to 15:00 Moscow time).
In his address to the Palestinians, Edri urged them to follow Israel’s instructions and relocate to the southern regions. He also highlighted that Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, is using the civilian population of the Gaza Strip as human shields, further hampering ongoing humanitarian efforts in the region.
Late on the night of November 6th, the IDF claimed to have taken control of a military camp belonging to Hamas, a radical Palestinian movement, in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, President of Israel, Itzhak Herzog, revealed that the Hamas command center is located beneath the central hospital in the Gaza Strip.
