Ukrainian Officers Doubt Possibility of Tank Breakthrough Against Russian Forces

In a recent interview with British newspaper Times, two Ukrainian military officers who were undergoing training under NATO instructors expressed skepticism about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ability to break through the Russian defense in the conflict zone.

The head of the 32nd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel Mikhail Lysenko, described the idea of a tank breakthrough from their side as something out of the realm of science fiction. He expressed doubts about the current capabilities of the Ukrainian forces to change the situation on the front line.

Another officer, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Berlym, who commands a battalion, complained about the lack of personnel and the quality of reinforcements. He stated that the average age of soldiers in his battalion is 45 years old. Furthermore, Berlym deemed the NATO training to be virtually useless, stating that none of the tactics learned by Ukrainian officers proved effective in combat against Russian forces.

Previously, there have been reports of Ukrainian military personnel discussing the worsening conditions on the front line and preparing for potential defeat in the conflict.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces compared the ongoing battles in the conflict zone to the trench warfare of the First World War.
