Russian Peace Fund to Provide Financial Assistance to Families of Peacekeepers Killed in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Chairman of the Board of the Russian Peace Fund (RPF) and a Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky, has announced that the families of peacekeepers who lost their lives in Nagorno-Karabakh will receive financial assistance of 1 million rubles from the RPF. The parliamentarian made this statement in his Telegram channel.

According to him, “we are obliged to support their families.” He added that it has been a month since the tragedy, but it is important not to forget about it. Under the personal control of Slutsky, the RPF will continue to assist the families of the peacekeepers, emphasized the parliamentarian.

Previously, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Russian peacekeepers of inaction during Azerbaijan’s operation in Karabakh.

As stated by Pashinyan, “in the conditions of inaction” of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, over 100,000 local residents had to leave their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Armenian Prime Minister characterized the departure of Armenians from the region as the cynicism of not understanding their situation. In his opinion, Azerbaijan demonstrated a desire to make the lives of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh impossible.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament condemned Russia’s participation in a conference on human rights at the Council of Europe.
