Ukraine Plans Massive Winter Drone Attack on Russian Regions, Says Chief of the Main Directorate of Combat Strike Systems

The Chief of the Main Directorate of Combat Strike Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergei Baranov, has stated to the Independent that Ukraine is planning a large-scale winter attack on regions of Russia using drones.

Baranov noted that Ukraine intends to extensively use drones as harsh weather conditions may hinder ground offensives.

Earlier, Marina Miron, an observer from The National Interest, stated that the upcoming winter could be the greatest enemy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Captain First Rank in reserve and military expert Vasily Dandykin also predicted that Ukrainian troops would attempt to retreat into a defensive position during winter, following a failed counteroffensive on the Zaporizhia direction.

On November 1st, retired military expert and colonel Viktor Litovkin stated that the Turkish Bayraktar drones used by Ukraine are unable to overcome Russia’s deeply layered air defense system, rendering them ineffective on the battlefield.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the acceleration of drone transfers to the Armed Forces.
