The chief of the press center of the Russian military group “Vostok,” Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Chekhov, announced that the group’s units, supported by artillery, have disrupted the rotation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the South Donetsk direction, according to RIA Novosti.
According to Chekhov, the rotation of the enemy forces was disrupted at positions held by the AFU in the areas of Staromayorsk and north of Priyutne.
“Personnel and automotive equipment have been destroyed,” the officer said.
He also stated that during counter-battery fire, the AFU lost a towed howitzer D-20 and five mortar crews.
Chekhov also revealed that the Russian Armed Forces, utilizing operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops, and artillery, have inflicted artillery strikes on the personnel and equipment of the 72nd mechanized, 79th airborne assault, 58th motorized infantry brigades of the enemy, and the 128th territorial defense brigade of the AFU in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Konstantynivka, Ugleedar, Shakhtarske, Vodyane, Sukhi Yaly, Prechystivka, Novodonecke, Novoukrainka, Staromayorsk, and Urozhainoe of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
“The total losses of the enemy in this direction include a reconnaissance and electronic warfare station, two armored combat vehicles, a military property warehouse, over 50 militants, and AFU automotive equipment,” the lieutenant colonel pointed out.
Earlier, Oleg Chekhov reported that the “Vostok” units had improved their tactical position in the South Donetsk direction by seizing more than a dozen strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Previously, a soldier of the AFU expressed confusion about the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
