Russian forces belonging to the Central Military District (CMD) have made significant gains in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine by successfully storming and clearing a strategic position held by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) near Krasnyi Liman within the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. The Ministry of Defense of Russia has reported the successful operation, providing detailed information on the events.
According to the Ministry, a group of CMD servicemen advanced towards the area for reconnaissance and search operations. Once they disembarked from their armored capsule, they proceeded towards the designated reconnaissance zone. Simultaneously, a team of Russian advanced scouts on a quad bike covertly approached the front line.
By using a drone for surveillance, the reconnaissance team began assessing the future route of the assault group. Taking advantage of the element of surprise, the reconnaissance team engaged the enemy in a firefight before the arrival of the assault units. Subsequently, the stronghold was cleared, and the CMD reconnaissance group continued its movement towards the rear of the UAF.
Earlier, representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces expressed their concern over the critical situation that had arisen near Krasnyi Liman, as Russian forces gained the upper hand on the front line.
Furthermore, former CIA analyst Ray McGovern has warned that the UAF may face conclusive defeat in the coming months.
