Russian Air Force Strikes Illicit Armed Groups in Syria’s Idlib Province

The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKF) have targeted objects belonging to illegal armed groups in Syria’s Idlib province. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, during a briefing, as reported by TASS.

“The VKF have conducted airstrikes on objects belonging to illegal armed groups involved in shelling the positions of Syrian government forces,” said the deputy head of the center.

According to him, underground shelters of militants and unmanned aerial vehicle control points in the areas of Flyifel, Baksamta, and Erika, located in this province, were hit.

It was previously reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces had struck positions of Syrian militants and destroyed five weapon depots.

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces had eliminated up to 25 militants associated with the terrorist organization “Jabhat al-Nusra” (which is banned in Russia) in the town of Batenta, located 9 kilometers northwest of the city of Idlib. This group of militants was responsible for attacks on the positions of Syrian government forces and civilian infrastructure.

Earlier, Turkey announced when they would withdraw their troops from Syria.
