Russian Defense Ministry Reports Attack on Shipbuilding Plant in Kerch

In a recent announcement, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched an attack on the B.E. Butoma Shipyard in the city of Kerch, using 15 cruise missiles. According to the ministry, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 13 of these missiles.

The Defense Ministry further stated that as a result of the missile impact, a ship located at the shipyard sustained damages. This news follows reports that Russian air defense forces had already intercepted missiles near the B.E. Butoma Shipyard in Kerch. Sergey Aksenov, the head of Crimea, disclosed that some of the debris from the intercepted missiles fell into one of the dry docks. More details can be found in the article published by “Gazeta.Ru.”

The B.E. Butoma Shipyard, also known as the Zaliv Shipyard, is one of the largest shipbuilding enterprises in Eastern Europe and plays a significant role in the city of Kerch’s economy. The shipyard operates two shipbuilding lines.

On November 3, Governor Vladimir Saldo of the Kherson Oblast reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had targeted a building belonging to the Social Fund and Employment Service in the town of Chaplynka. He noted that Ukrainian military forces fired six American missiles at the area.

Earlier, a Ukrainian soldier in the AFU expressed confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
