US Secretary of State Raises Concerns over Ceasefire in Gaza

During a joint press conference with his counterparts from Egypt and Jordan, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his views on the calls from allies to support a ceasefire in Gaza. Blinken stated that the US administration believes that a ceasefire would provide Hamas with an opportunity to regroup and continue their actions, similar to what occurred on October 7th.

Former Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO, Admiral James Stavridis, previously opposed a complete ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, but emphasized the need for humanitarian pauses to provide assistance to the enclave’s residents.

Furthermore, CNN, citing a high-ranking US representative, reported that Washington is expecting a new phase in the Israel-Hamas conflict in the coming days.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas.
