In a recent development in the ongoing conflict between Russia-backed forces and Ukraine, fighters from the “15th Brigade” have reportedly dug a 160-meter tunnel near Avdiivka for the purpose of targeting Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information was shared by war correspondent Semyon Pegov on his Telegram channel, WarGonzo.
Commander Ahra Avidzba, jokingly mentioning the Donbas region’s attempt to build a metro, explained that the soldiers were already familiar with tools such as shovels and picks, so they did not have to spend much time brainstorming. Avidzba also highlighted the use of tactics from the First World War in the planning of this mine operation. Russian soldiers often dug and eliminated enemy machine gun nests along the frontlines during that time.
Prior to this incident, Russian paratroopers successfully targeted a Ukrainian tank on the Zaporizhia front. The drone of the army special forces unit “Osman” detected the Western-made combat vehicle, and the coordinates were promptly relayed to the Russian paratroopers, who destroyed the target with a guided missile.
Earlier, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) had pointed out the emergence of panic among the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
