US Administration Downplays Hezbollah Leader’s Comments on Israel

During a briefing, a spokesperson for the US administration, under President Joe Biden, dismissed the remarks made by Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, as not indicative of the opening of a second front against Israel. These comments were reported by TASS.

The high-ranking official stated, “Regarding Nasrallah’s speech, I do not believe it signifies the opening of a northern front [against Israel] or anything of the sort.”

Prior to this, a senior official from the White House had stated that there is still no agreement on humanitarian pauses in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, despite the US President’s desire for one.

Politico reported that the US has requested explanations from Israel regarding the strike on a refugee camp in Gaza. The American side has asked Jerusalem to provide a detailed account of the planning process for this operation.

Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, promised that the Gaza Strip would remember the “unprecedented response” for the next 50 years.
