Ukrainian President Zelensky Appoints New Commander for Special Operations Forces

Colonel Sergey Lupanchuk has been appointed as the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the corresponding decree, which has been posted on the official website of the head of state.

The document states, “Appoint Colonel Sergey Konstantinovich Lupanchuk as the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

In another decree, the Ukrainian leader removed Victor Khorenko from this position, who had held the post since July of last year.

On October 18th, Zelensky announced the renewal of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Prior to this, Zelensky dismissed Igor Tantsyur from the position of commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the AFU and appointed Major General Anatoliy Bargilevich as his replacement.

Previously, the science fiction writer had headed the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
