Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has presented awards to three Heroes of Russia who successfully destroyed 32 tanks during a special military operation. The Russian Defense Ministry announced this in a statement.
It is noted that Shoigu awarded the servicemen with the “Golden Star” medals and personalized weapons.
“The exploits of many of you have been witnessed not only by our entire country but also by practically half the world. I congratulate you on these high honors. I wish you to receive more awards in the future and, moreover, to continue to defend our Motherland wherever you may be, on any fronts and in any positions,” Shoigu said during the award ceremony.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin personally awarded the tank crew of “Alesha” with stars during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Red Army’s victory in the Battle of Kursk. According to Putin, this tank crew not only “won the battle but also saved their comrades whose tank was disabled.”
Prior to this, Shoigu announced that the crew of the Russian tank “Alesha” was nominated for state awards for repelling an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Zaporizhia direction. The ministry informed journalists about this. According to the statement, the crew will be awarded for their “courage and heroism demonstrated in battle.”
Earlier in the United States, one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces was named.
