US House of Representatives Votes in Favor of Military Aid to Israel, Raising Concerns about Ukraine

The United States House of Representatives has voted in favor of providing military aid to Israel, but the proposed document does not mention Ukraine. This decision has raised concerns among critics who question the prioritization of Israel over Ukraine. The vote saw 226 members of the House support the project, while 196 congressmen voted against it. The proposed $14.3 billion aid package to Israel will now be sent for consideration to the Senate, the upper chamber of the American parliament. Ultimately, President Joe Biden will have the final say as he must either sign or reject the bill.

Prior to this vote, John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications, stated that President Biden would exercise his veto power if the US Congress approves a bill providing aid solely to Israel without including Ukraine. Biden firmly believes that any additional requests for aid should address the critical security needs of Ukraine.

Earlier, the United States had announced the timeline for Israel’s ground operation in Gaza.
