New York Man Taken into Custody After Month-Long Manhunt for Triple Murder

After evading law enforcement for nearly a month, Lenue Moore, a New York man accused of executing his neighbor, her friend, and her pit bull, has been apprehended. Moore, 31, was found hiding under a bed in an apartment in Brooklyn on October 26. The arrest came after a long-standing vendetta between Moore and his neighbor over her dog’s barking. Charging documents obtained from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office reveal that Moore took steps to avoid capture by changing clothes immediately after the shooting.

Prosecutors argue that Moore’s willingness to kill in violation of a Temporary Order of Protection demonstrates a complete disregard for the court’s conditions. Moore allegedly kicked in his neighbor’s front door in April, breaking her arm. He also assaulted two other women who tried to intervene, causing injuries. The incident was reportedly sparked by noise complaints regarding the woman’s dogs.

The victim, Jacqueline “Jackie” Billini, had expressed feeling unsafe in her neighborhood after the attack in April. Even after the incident, she received threats about her life while walking her dogs. Her friend, Levaughn Harvin, had been accompanying her on walks to ensure her safety. Billini’s dog, Zeus, was also fatally shot during the attack.

Moore had previously been indicted for first-degree burglary and additional assault charges. However, the bail amount set for him was lower than what prosecutors had requested. The recent charges against Moore include two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, violation of a restraining order, and cruelty to animals.

The investigation into the triple murder revealed twelve 9mm shell casings at the crime scene. Witnesses reported seeing a man dressed in black and carrying a black umbrella fleeing the scene. Detectives familiar with Moore identified him as the individual seen boarding a bus after the incident. A search warrant executed at Moore’s apartment led to the discovery of a Glock 9mm firearm, which was linked to the bullets found at the crime scene.

Moore is currently incarcerated and is scheduled to appear in court on November 2 for both the charges related to the triple murder and the April attack. The case has sparked concerns about safety in the neighborhood and the need for stricter measures to protect victims of harassment and violence.
