Israeli Attack on Gaza Refugee Camp Leaves Broadcast Engineer’s Family Dead, Sparks Outrage

The recent Israeli attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza has caused a devastating loss for Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan, a broadcast engineer working with [News Agency]. Al-Qumsan has tragically lost 19 family members, including his father and two sisters, due to the Israeli air raids. In response, [News Agency] has strongly condemned this act, labeling it a “massacre” and an “unforgivable act” committed by Israeli forces. The agency’s statement expresses deep sorrow for the loss of Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan’s family, which includes eight nephews and nieces, a brother, a sister-in-law, and an uncle.

The Jabalia refugee camp, located in the northern Gaza Strip, was the target of the Israeli attack, resulting in the deaths of more than 50 people, according to Palestinian authorities. The camp, already densely populated, has limited options for safety, leaving its residents vulnerable to such attacks. Disturbing footage from the scene shows the desperate efforts of rescue workers and volunteers, using their bare hands to dig through the rubble in search of survivors.

This tragic incident follows the recent loss of life experienced by other journalists in Gaza. Just days prior, the wife, son, daughter, and grandson of [News Agency]’s Gaza correspondent, Wael Dahdouh, were killed in an Israeli air raid. Dahdouh, devastated by the loss, condemned these attacks, stating that they specifically target innocent civilians, including children and women. Another correspondent of [News Agency], Youmna ElSayed, received a chilling warning call from someone claiming to be from the Israeli military, prompting her family to evacuate their home.

The Palestinian authorities report a staggering number of casualties since the conflict began on October 7, with over 8,525 people, including more than 3,500 children, losing their lives in Gaza. Tragically, this violence has also claimed the lives of 31 journalists, 26 of whom were Palestinian, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

In response to these horrific events, [News Agency] calls upon the international community to urgently address this grave injustice and ensure justice for the families of Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan and countless other innocent Gazan civilians who have lost their loved ones. The agency emphasizes the need for swift action to prevent further loss of life and bring those responsible to justice.
