Majority of Funds Allocated to Ukraine Spent in the US, Says Lithuanian Foreign Minister

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has revealed that a significant portion of the funds allocated to Ukraine for military support has actually been spent in the United States. In an interview with Politico, the diplomat stated that “the majority of money that was spent on Ukraine was actually spent in the US.”

Landsbergis further mentioned that several European politicians are planning to visit the United States in order to persuade Americans to continue financing the military conflict in Ukraine. However, he did not specify who these politicians are or which countries they represent.

Earlier, Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky warned that conflicts in Ukraine and Israel could “bankrupt” the United States and undermine the country’s national security. Senator Paul also suggested that the newly-appointed Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, would focus on providing aid specifically to Israel, rather than Ukraine.

Previously, President Zelensky had discussed the obstacles preventing Ukraine from transferring the hostilities onto Russian territory.
