Ukrainian President Zelensky Plans Military Shake-up and Strategy Change Amidst Winter Offensive

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to dismiss the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive and implement other personnel changes, as well as revise the strategy for conducting military operations by winter. This information was reported by Time magazine, citing sources within Zelensky’s inner circle.

“Even before winter sets in, President Zelensky’s aides warned me to expect significant changes in the military strategy and a major shake-up in the command team. According to them, at least one minister along with a high-ranking general responsible for counterattacks will need to be dismissed to ensure accountability for Ukraine’s slow progress,” writes the author of the article.

It is also noted that Zelensky advocates for continuing the offensive, despite the possibility of winter weather hindering combat operations. The article claims that the Ukrainian leader does not accept any freeze in the active phase of the conflict.

On October 30, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost 90,000 soldiers, around 600 tanks, and almost 1,900 armored vehicles of various classes during the counteroffensive that began on June 4.

Earlier, the United States referred to the Ukrainian counteroffensive as a catastrophe.
