Russian Military Repels Ukrainian Attack in Zaporizhzhia Region

In a recent clash in the vicinity of the town of Rabotino, Russian forces successfully repelled an assault by the 65th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on the Zaporizhzhia front. The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the enemy suffered significant losses, with 220 soldiers killed and several military vehicles destroyed, including two tanks (including a Leopard), two combat armored vehicles, and three pickup trucks.

Additionally, the Russian forces successfully targeted and neutralized two M777 artillery systems, a self-propelled artillery installation known as “Krab,” and an Msta-B howitzer during counter-battery operations.

On October 30th, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu revealed that the UAF had incurred heavy casualties and losses during their counteroffensive, which began on June 4th. According to Shoygu, the UAF has lost approximately 90,000 soldiers and nearly 600 tanks.

Prior to this clash, former US Armed Forces intelligence officer Scott Ritter had warned that the Russian army had trapped the Ukrainian Armed Forces within the Donetsk region.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the challenges preventing Ukraine from shifting the conflict onto Russian territory.
