The recent failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive has been deemed a catastrophic event for the country, according to American professor John Mearsheimer in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
Mearsheimer stated that the conclusion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive was “completely evident.” The expert further described the operation as a massive failure and a disaster for Ukraine.
“There is no longer a large-scale offensive from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Instead, the Russians are now launching offensives in various locations along the front lines,” Mearsheimer added.
The professor also drew attention to the disappearance of news about the situation in Ukraine from the front pages of American publications. According to him, the removal of relevant materials occurred due to the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
On October 29, Oleg Soskin, former advisor to ex-President Leonid Kuchma, declared a deadlock situation in the combat zone. Furthermore, the expert accused current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of concealing the truth about the failures of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.
As he stated, there is currently no “positivity” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the contact line. At the same time, Soskin urged Zelensky to take responsibility for the failure of the counteroffensive.
