The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reported 10 missile launches towards Israel from Lebanese territory. The IDF made this announcement through their official Telegram channel.
In response, Israeli military forces fired back at the neighboring country. Following the missile launches, an air raid siren was sounded in Israel.
Prior to this, the IDF had already reported a strike on the rocket launchers in Lebanon targeting Israel.
The situation in the Middle East has escalated after thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7th. Over two hundred hostages were taken.
On that day, Hamas launched several thousand rockets towards Israel, declaring the start of their operation named “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.
The Israeli Defense Forces’ operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with the objective of destroying Hamas. The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.
On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must be evacuated to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation in the area.
Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
