Israeli Defense Forces Expand Ground Operations in Gaza Sector

During a press briefing with journalists, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Brigadier General Daniel Hageri announced that additional IDF forces entered the northern sector of Gaza and joined the ongoing operations in the enclave. According to reports from RIA Novosti, General Hageri stated that this move expanded the IDF’s ground presence in the Gaza sector.

“They have joined those who are already fighting there. Ground maneuvers in the northern sector of Gaza are ongoing. We are progressing through the stages of the war according to our plans,” Hageri noted.

General Hageri also revealed that there are at least 230 hostages being held in the Gaza sector.

Prior to this, the IDF had reported that Israeli soldiers targeted 450 militant sites in the Gaza sector within a 24-hour period.

On October 28, Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Lieutenant General Herzl Halevi, stated that the objectives of the military operations required a ground offensive.

Earlier, Hamas assessed its readiness to confront the IDF’s ground operation in the Gaza sector.
