US Industry Struggles to Support Israel and Ukraine Simultaneously

The United States’ industrial capacity is being stretched thin as it tries to provide simultaneous support to both Israel and Ukraine, according to a report by The Hill. The Biden administration claims it can continue to assist these countries without compromising American security, but experts are skeptical.

The article highlights the high demand for US weapons, which has created a situation where the country is unable to replenish its own stockpiles while manufacturers struggle to meet the demands. “We simply do not have the forces, ammunition, or defense-industrial base to meet security interests in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia,” says security expert Matthew Kroenig.

Since the end of the Cold War, the US has neglected its weapon production capabilities, putting Washington in a precarious position when it comes to defending its security interests. The article also points out that the possibility of protracted conflicts does not work in favor of the White House.

Observers emphasize that Ukraine has been resisting Russia for two years, while the expected ground offensive by Israel in Gaza could last for months. Additionally, Jerusalem could become embroiled in a two-sided war with Iran-backed Hezbollah, further complicating the situation.

It has been previously reported that US allies are increasingly doubting the ability of American authorities to provide military assistance to multiple countries simultaneously.

Earlier, the US Congress stated the need to separate the request for assistance to Israel and Ukraine.
