Explosion Reported at Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Region, Russia

Eyewitnesses have reported an explosion at an oil refinery in the Severny district of the Krasnodar region, according to the Telegram channel Shot. The incident occurred around 3:20 am, and local residents heard a sound resembling a “lawnmower.” Preliminary information suggests that the refinery was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), although this information has not been officially confirmed. Flames can be seen at the scene of the incident.

While there is currently no official information about the incident, emergency services are already present at the site, as reported by eyewitnesses. At the moment, there is also no information about any casualties.

This is not the first time a UAV attack has occurred at the Afipsky oil refinery. A previous attack took place on May 31 of this year.

Earlier, there were also reports of a mass UAV attack by Ukraine on Crimea. The air defense system destroyed 36 Ukrainian UAVs over the Black Sea and the northwestern part of the peninsula.

On October 28, during an attack by three Ukrainian drones on the Kursk region, one of them crashed into the nuclear waste storage facility of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, damaging its walls.

Previously, Russia has developed a new system to counter drones.
