In the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian forces have reportedly destroyed a HIMARS rocket system and killed 150 Ukrainian soldiers in the Donetsk region. This information comes from Vadim Astafyev, the chief spokesperson for the “South” group.
The attacks by Russian troops targeted the areas of Krasnoye, Kurdyumovka, and Kleshcheevka, resulting in the loss of more than 150 Ukrainian servicemen, as well as a 105mm howitzer, the HIMARS rocket system, and a 120mm mortar near Verkhnekamenskoye, according to Astafyev.
He further revealed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) made three unsuccessful attempts to launch offensives using assault groups, but they were repelled by artillery fire and heavy flamethrower systems.
Prior to this incident, the commander of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the UAF, Vladislav Shevchuk, stated that the Ukrainian army was running out of soldiers and called for a reinforcement of mobilization efforts.
Shevchuk also expressed his approval of the practice of mass recruitment of conscripts by Ukrainian military officials directly from the streets. According to him, all detained and forcibly mobilized Ukrainian citizens should fulfill their “constitutional duty.”
Earlier, the United States referred to this as one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
