Palestinian Prime Minister Rejects Idea of International Administration in Gaza

The Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammed Shtayyeh, has rejected the idea of international administration in the Gaza Strip, according to Al Arabiya TV. In a statement, Shtayyeh emphasized that there are no partial solutions for Gaza or the West Bank and that Gaza has been under Palestinian responsibility for the past 30 years.

This comes after Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the radical movement Hamas in Gaza, ordered the preparation of lists of all Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants invaded Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war.

The retaliatory operation by the Israeli Defense Forces has been named “Iron Swords,” with one of its goals being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has targeted hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the territory. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation.

Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
