UN Headquarters in Lebanon Hit by Shelling, No Casualties Reported

In a concerning incident, a projectile has struck the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the southern city of En Nakura. Fortunately, the projectile did not explode, and no casualties have been reported. However, the UNIFIL base has suffered damages. The organization has removed the projectile and is currently investigating the cause of this attack, according to a statement on their official social media account.

This incident comes after Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen accused Iran of attempting to escalate the conflict in Lebanon through the radical organization Hezbollah. Cohen made these remarks during an address at open debates on the situation in the Middle East in the United Nations Security Council.

On October 20, it was reported that UN peacekeepers had successfully rescued nine individuals from the shelling in Lebanon. As a result of heavy bombardment in the Tell el-Abad area, nine people, including a group of journalists, had become trapped in one of the houses. The Lebanese army sought assistance from the UNIFIL to rescue these individuals.

Earlier, Americans were advised to evacuate Lebanon due to the escalating situation.
