The Israeli military’s attempt at a ground invasion from three directions into the Gaza Strip has been unsuccessful, resulting in serious casualties for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), according to Ali Baraka, a member of the Hamas leadership abroad. This development was reported by Al Mayadeen channel.
“The attempt at a ground invasion through three directions into the Gaza Strip failed last night… The army has suffered significant losses,” explained Baraka.
Furthermore, the Hamas member added that Israel used helicopters to evacuate its soldiers from the battlefield.
Prior to this, Hamas had declared its opposition to Israel’s invasion in the northeast of Gaza.
Israeli authorities have rejected the Middle East resolution of the United Nations General Assembly calling for a ceasefire in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone. This statement was made by the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eli Cohen.
Earlier, Hamas announced that it would release foreign hostages “when circumstances allow.”
