Increasing Attacks on US Military in Iraq and Syria Raise Concerns

The Pentagon has stated that the US military has been subjected to 20 attacks in Iraq and Syria in the past ten days, involving rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to RIA Novosti.

“Between October 17 and 27, the US and coalition forces were attacked at least 14 times in Iraq and six times in Syria, using various drones and rockets, totaling 20 attacks to date,” the US Department of Defense reported.

The Pentagon also commented on the US fighter strikes that were carried out on October 26 for “self-defense” purposes, targeting weapon storage facilities used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces, in Syria. The department claims that there were no casualties as a result of this attack.

On October 23, it was reported that the At-Tanf American base, located in the desert in southeast Syria, was attacked by two drones.

Prior to this, the Ain al-Asad military airbase in Iraq, located in the western Anbar province and housing both Iraqi and American troops, was targeted with rocket fire.

Previously, it was reported that the Americans had prevented an attack on their military base in Iraq.
