The “Brigades of Izzedine al-Qassam,” a faction within the Palestinian radical movement Hamas, has reported armed clashes with units of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the northern and eastern sectors of the Gaza Strip. This information was announced in a Telegram channel affiliated with Hamas.
The publication states, “Fierce clashes are taking place on the ground.”
According to the channel’s information, the confrontation is taking place near the city of Beit Hanoun and in areas east of the Palestinian refugee camp of El-Bureij.
Israel has intensified its strikes on targets in the Gaza Strip and has announced the “expansion” of ground maneuvers within the enclave. Hamas has stated that Gaza has been attacked “from land, sea, and air” and has reported rocket launches towards Tel Aviv. The Islamic Jihad (an organization banned in Russia) has also reported striking Israel, with rockets hitting a residential home and a shelter in Sderot. The White House has declined to comment on the ongoing events, while The Washington Post has reported that the Biden administration is urging Israel to refrain from a ground operation. More details can be found in the “Gazeta.Ru” article.
Earlier, Hamas commented on Israel’s ground operation.
