Israeli Forces Move Towards Gaza as Tensions Escalate

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) tank units have been seen moving towards the Gaza sector in the vicinity of the security barrier in the city of Beit Hanoun, located in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave. This development has been reported by Sky News Arabia, citing local sources.

Representatives of the military wing of Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades, have stated that they are currently repelling Israel’s ground invasion in the eastern part of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza sector.

Prior to this, the IDF spokesperson announced that Israel was expanding the scale of its ground maneuvers in the Gaza sector.

On October 7th, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the beginning of Operation “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.

The IDF’s retaliatory operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza sector, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation in the region.

Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
