The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the arrest of representatives from three Ukrainian intelligence groups in the Zaporizhia region, who were allegedly controlled by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR MO) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The FSB made this revelation to TASS.
The detainees were identified as administrators of the information resources of the Ukrainian media outlet “RIA-Melitopol” and the Telegram chat group “Melitopol – this is Ukraine.” Foreign intelligence allegedly utilized these platforms for collecting intelligence data, while also subjecting local residents to psychological pressure.
During the arrest, one of the agents resisted with armed force, resulting in a retaliatory response from the FSB, leading to their elimination.
Following the arrests, the FSB conducted a search of the agents’ residence and discovered a homemade explosive device, an AKMS assault rifle, and an RGN grenade.
Subscribers of the aforementioned resources, who were under the supervision of Ukrainian agents, have been warned about possible criminal liability for disclosing data to the enemy side if it poses a threat to Russia’s security.
The FSB’s press service added that these information resources are no longer operational.
Earlier, at the military commissariat in Tver, FSB operatives eliminated a terrorist who had been recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
