Ukrainian Armed Forces Prepare for Winter Defensive Operations, Expert Says

Captain of the first rank in reserve and military expert, Vasily Dandykin, believes that during the winter, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will attempt to retreat into a defensive position following a failed counteroffensive on the Zaporizhzhia front, according to a report by Lenta.ru.

“Our task is to prevent the enemy from consolidating on the front lines and retreating into a defensive position. They will attempt to create reserves. Despite the ongoing distractions of forces and resources in the Middle East, they will find the means and weapons. Unlike them, we have been creating reserves and conserving our forces. We have different objectives,” Dandykin stated.

According to him, the main arena of combat in the near future could be the Kherson region, but Dandykin believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unlikely to initiate a large-scale airborne operation due to the approaching freezing temperatures that will significantly hinder combat operations.

Earlier, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kherson front for the week became known.

The Ukrainian side was unable to probe the positions of Russian military forces along the contact line in the region.

Previously, a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier expressed a lack of understanding about the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
