Judge Andrew Wilkinson was shot and killed on October 19, just a day after granting Argote’s wife a divorce and sole custody of their four children. During the custody hearing, Wilkinson heard harrowing testimony about the abuse inflicted by Argote on his family for years. Argote did not appear in court, claiming he had a headache. His wife tearfully testified about the control and violence he had subjected her to, including stuffing a towel in their baby’s mouth.
