In a recent development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the successful elimination of Shadi Baroud, a commander of the intelligence agency of the Palestinian radical organization, Hamas. This operation was carried out by IDF fighter jets, as reported in the agency’s Telegram channel.
The publication highlights that the strike targeted the location of the Hamas intelligence commander. Furthermore, the IDF stated that Baroud, who previously held the position of Chief of the Fire Control Center in Hamas’ operational unit, had planned an attack on October 7th alongside the organization’s leader, Yahya Sinwar.
Earlier, Israel’s ambassador to Russia, Alexander Ben Zvi, revealed that Israel had coordinated the start of the incursion into Gaza with the United States.

Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians should be evacuated to the southern region of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation.
