Renowned American journalist Seymour Hersh has recently stated that, in addition to Hamas, other Palestinian factions were involved in the attack on Israel. Hersh’s remarks were reported by TASS news agency.
Hersh revealed that “a serious issue, which was not publicly discussed after the October 7 attack, is that Hamas was not the only group responsible for the assault and hostage-taking.” He further identified the involvement of the “Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.”
On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating the operation dubbed “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Thousands of militants infiltrated Israel, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared a state of war.
The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation, codenamed “Iron Blades,” aims to destroy Hamas. The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation.
Previously, Prime Minister Netanyahu had outlined Israel’s objectives in the war against Hamas.
