Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced in his Telegram channel that the formation of a new battalion in the republic is nearing completion. The battalion will be named after Sheikh Mansur, the first imam of the Caucasus.
According to the regional leader, he visited the construction site in the city of Gudermes together with the unit’s commander, Ruslan Geremeev, where they are building and reconstructing a military facility to accommodate the battalion’s personnel. Kadyrov stated that the work is in its final stages.
“In a very short time, specialists have carried out extensive reconstruction of four barracks and built two more. All engineering communications have been replaced, and the necessary furniture has been delivered,” Kadyrov wrote.
He also mentioned that a parade ground has been equipped for the military. Additionally, a dining hall with 100 seats, a parking area, a prayer room, and other facilities have been provided.
“After completing all the work, there will be excellent conditions for servicemen here,” Kadyrov emphasized.
He added that this task is the main priority in the formation of combat units.
Previously, Kadyrov announced that another group of volunteers had been sent from Grozny to the area of a special military operation (SMO).
Earlier, Kadyrov addressed those who were recording “complaint videos” to the military.
