According to a member of the Hamas political bureau, Ghazi Hamad, the number of fighters belonging to the Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip currently stands at around 35,000. This information was revealed during an interview on the Lebanese television channel LBCI.
Hamad explained, “We have 35,000 fighters in the Gaza Strip. We also have fighters in the West Bank. We know that if we want to confront the Israeli army, which is supported by the United States and Europe, we must be highly prepared.”
Earlier, the Senate Intelligence Committee in the United States claimed that the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip was carried out by militants. Vice Chairman of the committee, Marco Rubio, made this comment on the committee’s website. According to the senator, the explosion was the result of a failed rocket launch by terrorist militants, rather than an airstrike from Israel.
Furthermore, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for a distinction to be made between civilians and Hamas militants in Gaza.
Previously, the United States had mentioned the timeframe for Israel’s ground operation in Gaza.
