A source in Moscow has revealed that the shortage of weapons and ammunition in the Ukrainian Armed Forces may not only be attributed to active combat operations, but also to rampant corruption in the country. This information comes in response to the comments made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, who stated that his country is experiencing a shortage of ammunition “just like the rest of the world,” according to a report by RIA Novosti.
The source explained that the lack of ammunition and weapons in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is not only a result of ongoing combat operations, but also a consequence of the excessive level of corruption in Ukraine and the absence of proper control over the use of Western weapons. Due to these reasons, the weapons intended for the Ukrainian troops end up on the black market, where various criminal and radical groups operating in other countries purchase them, directly impacting global security.
