Pro-Iranian Shiite Militia Attacks US Military Bases in Syria

In the Syrian provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah, drones operated by Shiite armed groups launched attacks on American military bases, according to a report by the Associated Press.

The pro-Iranian Shiite group, known as the “Islamic Resistance of Iraq,” used unmanned aerial vehicles to strike US military bases located near the Al-Omar oil field and in Ash-Shaddade.

This attack occurred just hours after the Shiite group claimed responsibility for drone attacks on the US military base in At-Tanf, located in the Homs province.

Previously, John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications, stated that US authorities believe Iran supports the groups that carried out the attacks on American military bases in Syria and Iraq.

It was reported earlier that the US base in At-Tanf, situated in the desert in southeastern Syria, was attacked by two unmanned aerial vehicles.

Hamas has also declared that it will release foreign hostages “when circumstances allow.”
