The elite unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 47th Mechanized Brigade “Magura,” has suffered significant casualties in the Zaporizhia region, with more than three thousand personnel lost. This information was reported by the Telegram channel “Military Chronicle.”
The “Magura” brigade was formed less than a year ago and its soldiers were trained by American instructors in Germany. The unit was considered one of the most combat-ready in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the channel’s information, the Russian army has organized special “kill zones” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Rabytyno-Verbovye area. Ukrainian troops deliberately launched attacks in areas where extensive minefields were set up by the enemy, and the terrain was heavily shelled by artillery.
The “Magura” brigade attempted to conduct offensives in this area but did not achieve any success, resulting in heavy losses exceeding three thousand personnel. The level of losses for the brigade is approaching one to one and a half times its full authorized strength.
Previously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces acknowledged the advantage of Russian forces in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
