Russian Defense Minister Discusses National Concerns with Politicians

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has stated that discussions with politicians often revolve around issues that concern the entire country. According to RIA Novosti, Shoigu’s remarks were made during a meeting with politicians.

“When meeting with different people, deputies, senators, and even government members, we often discuss the issues that are currently troubling not only us, not only the army, but the whole country,” Shoigu said.

He emphasized that these discussions are held in order to understand the scale and scope of the Armed Forces’ actions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that Shoigu drew the attention of Russian senators to the scale of the tasks being solved by the Armed Forces during special military operations.

Prior to this, Shoigu stated that NATO may soon deploy its bases in Sweden and Finland. He highlighted that the situation along the perimeter of the Union State’s borders has sharply escalated due to NATO’s openly hostile activities. In particular, Finland’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance and joint NATO events in Sweden have created an additional source of tension.

Earlier, Shoigu instructed to consider the question of extraditing the SS officer Hunke from Canada.
