Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia, the ruling party in Georgia, has denied allegations of Russian interference in the country’s elections. Kaha Kaladze, the party’s Secretary-General and Mayor of Tbilisi, stated that there have been no documented cases of Russian meddling since 2012. This statement comes amidst concerns over foreign interference in democratic processes worldwide.
Kaladze emphasized the need for transparent and fair elections, highlighting their significance for the government and the prevention of any manipulation for personal or political gains. The Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party came to power in 2012, succeeding the United National Movement, which was founded by former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
Despite previous reports suggesting attempts to destabilize the country, Kaladze expressed confidence in his party’s ability to secure victory in the upcoming elections and future contests.
