Russian Defense Forces Successfully Shoot Down Nearly 20 Ukrainian Drones in Special Military Operation

In the past 24 hours, Russian air defense systems have managed to shoot down almost 20 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the area of a special military operation. The Russian Ministry of Defense made this announcement through its press service.

“The air defense forces have destroyed 19 UAVs in the areas of the settlements of Verkhnekamenka, Kremennaya, and Zolotarevka in the Luhansk People’s Republic,” clarified the Russian military.

According to the statement, Ukrainian drones were also eliminated in the settlements of Kirillovka, Berestove, Spornoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and Krynyk in the Kherson region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also noted that since the beginning of the special operation, 508 Ukrainian military aircraft, 253 helicopters, and 8,176 UAVs have been neutralized.

Previously, the Russian military reported that their air defense systems had shot down 28 drones over the Black Sea, Kursk, and Belgorod regions. On the evening of October 17th, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a Ukrainian unmanned boat in the Black Sea.

Earlier, Russia developed a new system for countering drones.
